rainmaker

as he
slowly unbuttoned her shirt
you could hear her screams
trapped behind his hand
tears
fought their way down her face
as her body lay motionless
ridged
cold
her hands were
pinned by his knees
as he placed
profane kisses against her face

he had watched her for so long
studying her movements
she unknowingly teased him
with her seductive walk
low cut jeans
and babydoll shirts
she unknowingly ingored his advances
because before today
he didnt exist

she lived in her own world
a world with no past
because with her past came
unwanted memories
memories that until now she was able to forget
able to hide
able to live without

and he
unknowingly
brought it all back

he unknowingly brought back the first time
when
she was only 15
sitting in her living room
crying
wondering if her mother would ever come home
in time to save her from her step fathers sins

he brought back memories of
when she went home with a friend
just after the club
thinking that with him
she was safe
and later listening to him blaming it on alcohol and youth

he unknowingly brought back
every ex boyfriend who couldnt understand why she would say no
and instead of trying to get to know her heart
they would leave her
crying into a pillow
then later offer her soul to the world
as a trophy of stolen conquest

he unknowingly brought back
unwanted touches on crowded subway trains
he brought back
late nights locked in closets
and bathrooms
and under beds
and in cars
hiding till day break
because at least sometimes at daybreak
there would be hope

he unknowingly brought back
everything that she ever wanted to forget
so
she just lay there
and as sweat fell from his face
she cried
wishing she could leave her past
wishing she could free her soul
wishing that her sun could shine

but he
unknowingly
brought back the rain
forever
